2011 Campaign Kickoff is this Thursday

Coming off the heels of a successful 2010 campaign, United Way of Lake County looks to continue the enthusiasm, excitement and energy into this year’s campaign.
The nonprofit organization will host its 2011 Campaign Kickoff Thursday, August 18 at 7:30 a.m. at a new location, the Mentor High School gymnasium.
United Way donors, friends, partners, volunteers and Lake County residents all are welcome to attend the kickoff, which will be football themed with a “tailgate” breakfast, football drills by the Mentor High football team and cheers from the Mentor High cheerleaders.
Donations will also be kindly accepted during the event.
Dr. Jacqueline Hoynes, Superintendent of Mentor Schools and Kevin Lynch of AT&T will co-chair this year’s campaign. The theme is LIVE UNITED. I DO. DO YOU?
Hoynes, Lynch and members of the campaign cabinet, generously will volunteer their time throughout the campaign to educate and promote awareness of United Way of Lake County and the 74 programs it funds.
“Kevin and I are excited to work with the campaign cabinet as well as the rest of the community to raise awareness and funds for people who are truly in need,” Hoynes said. “The need continues to grow greater every year, which is why we are asking everyone to come together for a cause and give what you can. Every dollar will help.”
“We look to take all the momentum from the 2010 campaign and carry it over to this year’s campaign,” Lynch added. “We want everyone to know that by donating to United Way of Lake County, you’re donating to an organization that is a catalyst for change, a good investment and one that delivers results. All money raised in Lake County stays in the county to help those in need.”
In 2010, Lake County residents utilized 138,939 services supported through United Way of Lake County dollars.
