United Way of Lake County is hiring for a Researcher/Data Analysis position.
The position will acquire, manage, manipulate and analyze data and report/write
results for the formation of a Community-Wide Needs Assessment.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze existing data to show
overlying needs, themes, consistencies, inconsistencies, etc.
- Acquire and abstract primary or
secondary data from existing data sources
- Identify gaps of information
- Seek other data sources to
"fill in" identified gaps
- Develop questions for
one-on-one or target group interviews, as needed to "fill in"
gaps
- Work with the Advisory
Committee to complete personal or group interviews
- Attend and report, as
requested, at Advisory Committee meetings
- Present to United Way Board of
Directors, as requested
- In concert with outside
research firm, help develop a Community-wide random stratified survey
- In collaboration with the
Advisory Committee, interpret data and develop findings and
recommendations that are prioritized and divided into short term vs.
long-term needs
- Gather all data collected, and
complete a data report showcasing data collected, sources, methodology,
etc.
- Work in concert with the
Advisory Committee and others to write a final Needs Assessment Report
Qualifications/Skills:
- Past experience in data
research
- Some knowledge & experience
of health and human services; past research in these areas are a plus
- Technical abilities regarding
data models
- Experience in data mining
techniques and procedures
- Ability to present complex
information in an understanding and compelling manner via written or
verbal communications
- Ability to work within
teams/committees
- Having an ability to make this
project a priority with time and focus
- Experience in
"connecting" data to overall themes, issues, and needs
- Expert ability to draw
conclusions from the data
