On Thursday, November 29, United Way of Lake County is hosting a women’s leadership event called “Food for the Holidays” featuring the best holiday foods from the county’s most prestigious restaurants.

The event will take place at Pine Ridge Country Club in Wickliffe from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will feature a salad & pasta bar with wine as well as samples and desserts from Match Works Tavern, Skye Restaurant, Vittori’s Buon Appetito, Aladdin’s Eatery, Great Harvest Bread Co., Bakers Square, The Cupcakery, Reider’s Market, Golden Crust Bakery, Feren Fruit & Gift Baskets, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Market Spice, Gartman Model Bakery, Giant Eagle and more.

Local chefs, Tom Quick of Match Works Tavern and Susan Miga of Skye Restaurant, will also be on hand to give demonstrations.

The event, which is sponsored by Paul Vanek, M.D., is $50 to attend with all proceeds going toward women’s programs supported by United Way of Lake County.

“Not only will ‘Food for the Holidays’ be a fun-filled evening offering some of the finest foods in Lake County, it’s also a way for the executive women in our community to show their support of other women who are struggling,” said Lisa Nelson, owner of Right Track Benefits and Co-Chair of the 2012 United Way of Lake County Campaign. “It’ll be a lot of fun for a great cause.”
